About Us

P.A.C.E. Health Care, Inc. was founded in 1996 by an individual who desired to address patients' needs and ensure professional treatment under a physician’s plan of care in the patients’ homes. In the spring of 1998, Thelma M. Cavazos, R.N., and Yolanda R. Salinas, with similar desires, joined forces with P.A.C.E. and remained committed to meeting the home care needs of the families of the Mid-Valley region of the Rio Grande Valley and also looked to provide a greater reach throughout Hidalgo County.

Although many home health entities were forced to discontinue services due to the changes set forth by the Balance Budget Act of 1997, the P.A.C.E. Administration ensured that P.A.C.E. remained stable and operational. Primary Home Care (PHC) and Community Based Alternatives (CBA) were also added to the services provided. Additionally, P.A.C.E. incorporated RemoteNurse™ (telehealth) devices to better serve and meet patient and family needs. During its tenure, P.A.C.E. has also expanded its service area to include most of the Rio Grande Valley.

In 2006, the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services recognized our commitment to our patients by awarding us with 100% compliance in Primary Home Care, 100% compliance in Community Based Alternatives, and 100% compliance in Home Health.
