About Us

P.A.C.E. Health Care, Inc. was founded in 1996 by an individual who desired to address patients' needs and ensure professional treatment under a physician’s plan of care in the patients’ homes. In the spring of 1998, Thelma M. Cavazos, R.N., and Yolanda R. Salinas, with similar desires, joined forces with P.A.C.E. and remained committed to meeting the home care needs of the families of the Mid-Valley region of the Rio Grande Valley and also looked to provide a greater reach throughout Hidalgo County.

Although many home health entities were forced to discontinue services due to the changes set forth by the Balance Budget Act of 1997, the P.A.C.E. Administration ensured that P.A.C.E. remained stable and operational. Primary Home Care (PHC) and Community Based Alternatives (CBA) were also added to the services provided. During its tenure, P.A.C.E. has also expanded its service area to include most of the Rio Grande Valley.

Additionally, P.A.C.E. incorporated an electronic point of care system as well as other performance accelerating technologies such as telehealth services, digital imaging, wireless connectivity, and web-based data access, all in an effort to better serve and meet patient and family needs.
